Summary of Project Results |
The project was implemented in 2 phases. Results were summarised as follows: Phase 1: An operational guideline for recycling of waste papers, waste glass, waste plastics and waste metals was developed, a review on the existing situation of local recycling operators, study tours to Korea, business exploration tour to Mainland, a recyclers’ forum and a promotional seminar were conducted. Phase 2: Tips for recycling of waste paper and plastics and an interaction platform were developed, a survey study to evaluate the capability and efficiency of the recycling firms and outreach training were conducted, promotional videos were produced, recycling shops of different types was upgraded, a study mission to Mainland and a recyclers’ forum were organised in order to promote clean recycling of waste paper and plastics and support recyclers to adapt to Mainland’s more stringent requirements on recyclable import. |
