Recycling Fund approves $28 million for 29 applications

To promote the sustainable development of the recycling industry, the HKSAR Government launched the $1 billion 5 year Recycling Fund last October. Of the first batch of 94 applications submitted, 29 have been approved which involves a total sum of $28 million. Among the approved projects, 26 are under the Enterprise Support Program which supports the recyclers to purchase new machineries and transportation equipment, and recruit new staff, etc. The other three are under the Industry Support Program that aims to enhance the occupational safety and health, and operational efficiency of the industry. A signing ceremony with eight of the successful applicants was held in Hong Kong Productivity Council recently, which also marked the start of their projects.
