“Driving Recycling Industry towards Sustainability” Technical Seminar on Recycling Technologies cum Briefing on the Recycling Fund
The Fund Secretariat organized a “Driving Recycling Industry towards Sustainability” Technical Seminar on Recycling Technologies cum Briefing on the Recycling Fund on 30 October 2015 during the Eco Expo Asia 2015 at the AsiaWorld-Expo to allow the enterprises in the recycling industry and non-profit distributing organisations to have a better understanding on the funding scope and application details and the latest information on recycling technologies. Mr. Jimmy Kwok, the chairman of the Advisory Committee on the Recycling Fund and Mr. Wong Hon-meng, the Assistant Director of the Environment Protection Department, also attended the event. Around 130 participants joined the briefing cum seminar.
The first part “Technical Seminar on Recycling Technologies” was conducted in English and supplemented with simultaneous interpretation to Cantonese. Four speakers from the Netherlands, Japan and USA shared about the advanced recycling technologies including technology on rigid plastics and glass recycling, technology on conversion of textile into bioethanol, multi-layer laminated recycling technology and technology on transforming food waste into electricity and residual heat. The second part “Briefing on the Recycling Fund” was conducted in Cantonese and supplemented with simultaneous interpretation to English by the Fund Secretariat to introduce the scope of the Recycling Fund and the application details.
